acecard Posted February 1, 2012 Report Posted February 1, 2012 (edited) Does anyone know where I can get headlamp bulbs at a realistic price. I'm looking for a H7 for dipped beam and Halfords are asking £9.99 for the cheapest. Either I've just come back to life after hibernating for a few decades or that price is totally crazy. As an example, I can buy a pack from the poundshop (yes for £1) which includes an H4, brake bulb, indicator and various other small bulbs. The H4 used to fit most cars so I'm dead unhappy at the prospect of paying a tenner to change one measly H7.Cheers Edited February 1, 2012 by acecard Quote
acecard Posted February 1, 2012 Author Report Posted February 1, 2012 Just found this at the price I would expect to pay. Will try it out. http://www.amazon.co.uk/499-Car-Headlight-Bulb-12V/dp/B0028SGJ8E/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1328123206&sr=8-1 Quote

Crickleymal Posted February 1, 2012 Report Posted February 1, 2012 If you're just after normal halogen bulbs then Motaquip are usually quite cheap. If yuou can find a branch that is. My local branch seems to have gone out of business. Quote

sparky Paul Posted February 2, 2012 Report Posted February 2, 2012 (edited) how many people buy them without thinking "hey, this price can't be right"Even worse, some folk will have just bought a bulb from the service department of their main dealer and will think Halfords are cheap! :) Last generic H7 bulbs I bought were £8-odd for a box of 10 IIRC, and these cheap bulbs seem to last as well as any other. The H7 i bought from the link above via Amazon was identical to the blown one as I expected. I bought two (dog savages the post if I don't get there first) but only changed the failed one and the beams look perfectly matched in colour and intensity so I would recommend them at only Quote
